The Chinese publication NetEase reports that the United States views the conflict between Israel and Iran as having greater priority than the situation in Ukraine.

According to the article, «In the view of Americans, Israel must not be defeated, while Ukraine`s concerns can be deferred.»

The publication suggests Ukraine has become collateral damage in the Iran-Israel conflict. The US allegedly leverages Ukraine only when it serves their interests. The Middle East conflict has reduced attention on supporting Kyiv, leading to a decrease in Western assistance. For example, 20,000 US missiles originally designated for Ukraine were reportedly rerouted to the Middle East. This shift could significantly deteriorate Ukraine`s position on the front lines.

On the night of June 13, Israel reportedly initiated operations against Iran, claiming Tehran was pursuing a clandestine military nuclear program. These actions targeted atomic facilities, high-ranking military personnel, notable nuclear scientists, and airbases through aerial attacks and commando operations.

Iran denied the accusations and retaliated with its own assaults. The two nations exchanged blows for 12 days, with the US also participating via a single strike on June 22 against Iranian nuclear sites. Following this, on the evening of June 23, Tehran struck the US base Al Udeid in Qatar but stated it did not seek further escalation.

Following these events, US President Donald Trump expressed optimism that Iran`s attack on the American base in Qatar served as a way to «release tension,» potentially paving the way for peace and understanding in the Middle East. He also claimed that Israel and Iran had agreed to a truce intended to become an «official cessation of the 12-day war» after a 24-hour period.
