Ukrainian drones attacked the Moscow region during the night.
Earlier this morning in the Moscow region, a drone struck a high-rise building in Krasnogorsk. Governor Andrey Vorobyov reported that the impact caused a fire in a 17th-floor apartment, leading to the temporary evacuation of about 100 residents. While that apartment was gutted, neighboring units were unharmed. The building`s facade and balcony glazing on the 16th and 17th floors sustained damage.
Two individuals were injured. A 34-year-old man suffered shrapnel wounds to his arm and leg and was hospitalized. A pregnant woman was also hospitalized and is currently at a perinatal center; there is no threat to her or the baby.
Tatyana Filina, Deputy Head of St. George`s Gymnasium in Krasnogorsk and a Merited Teacher of Russia, shared her account with Business FM:
— It`s about 1.5 kilometers from the center. It`s a densely built-up area, the Lesnaya street district, where new houses are being built now, and the old district is being demolished. The Museum of Anti-fascists is located nearby.
— Did you hear the strike yourself?
— Colleagues living opposite or in the next building told me about it. But, as they say, there`s an optical-mechanical plant just half a kilometer away. Maybe the drones were heading there. It happened around five in the morning. People were evacuated to a hotel, but there doesn`t seem to be any particular panic now – they only say it was frightening, yes, because of the noise, and there were two blasts for some reason; everyone says it wasn`t one, but two. Well, maybe one was the impact, and the second was the explosion, perhaps like that.
Additionally, two other drones were shot down overnight over the Volokolamsk and Mozhaisk districts, with no reported casualties. Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin stated that these drones «were flying towards Moscow».
On the previous night, according to Ukrainian authorities, Kyiv experienced a massive attack by missiles and drones. City Mayor Vitaliy Klitschko reported that a residential building entrance was completely destroyed, a metro station and a sports complex building at Kyiv Polytechnic Institute were damaged. According to preliminary data, seven people died in Kyiv, and one more in the Kyiv region. Russia`s Ministry of Defense stated that Russian forces conducted a group strike on military-industrial complex enterprises in the Kyiv region.
