The Swiss cooperative Migros Zürich has decided to divest its German subsidiary, Tegut. Despite significant restructuring efforts and various savings programs, Migros has concluded that there is no sustainable future for the German supermarket chain. Consequently, the majority of Tegut’s supermarket branches will be sold to Edeka, marking Migros Zürich’s withdrawal from the German retail sector.
