The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) is investigating the circumstances surrounding the deaths of 25 children reported since July 2023, following their COVID-19 vaccination. According to informed sources who spoke to The Washington Post (WP), health officials are seeking to establish a link between these fatalities and COVID-19 vaccinations, potentially leading to restrictions on vaccine use.

This issue will be a central topic next week during a meeting of experts from the U.S. Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where new recommendations for COVID-19 vaccination will be developed. The decisions made will determine the availability of specific vaccines and their coverage by insurance companies.

WP sources indicate that officials appointed during Donald Trump`s presidency intend to present data on child deaths at the meeting, utilizing information from the Vaccine Adverse Event Reporting System (VAERS). However, health experts and the scientific community express concern about the reliability of VAERS data, as the system accepts unconfirmed information from anyone, including medical professionals, pharmacists, patients, or individuals who learn about cases from social media.

Scientists emphasize that such reports require rigorous verification and in-depth study. They warn that drawing definitive conclusions about a causal link between vaccination and adverse outcomes based on this data is inaccurate. In their view, COVID-19 vaccines have undergone thorough testing, and limiting their use could lead to an underestimation of the virus`s actual danger.

It is worth noting that U.S. Secretary of Health Robert Kennedy Jr., appointed by Donald Trump, is a vocal critic of COVID-19 vaccination. In May, he instructed local health authorities to cease recommending vaccinations for healthy children. Previously, vaccination was recommended for all individuals six months and older.
