Beach holidays in Moscow and the surrounding region are unlikely to be possible until July, according to weather experts. While Wednesday might see a slight increase in temperature up to 22 degrees, daytime highs are predicted to fall back to 16 degrees afterwards, with nighttime temperatures dropping to 11-12 degrees. Rain is anticipated throughout the week. Alexander Shuvalov, Head of the Meteo Prognostic Center, commented on the forecast:

Alexander Shuvalov, Head of the Meteo Prognostic Center:

“I believe beach holidays in the Moscow region should only be planned for July; unfortunately, it won`t be possible earlier. The average monthly temperatures for June so far in Moscow and the near Moscow region are 17-17.5 degrees Celsius, which is what has accumulated over the past days of June, so the water hasn`t warmed up. As for future prospects, the most favorable weather is today and tomorrow, with temperatures potentially exceeding the 20-degree mark, reaching 20-22 degrees. If there are rains, they won`t be prolonged. But then a new cyclone will arrive, and we`ll see temperatures drop with continuous rain until Friday. Temperatures starting from Wednesday will be 16-18 degrees, at best.”

Today, June 23rd, the capital expects cloudy conditions with occasional clearings and scattered light rain, with temperatures reaching up to 20 degrees Celsius. In the Moscow region on Monday, air temperatures will fluctuate between 16 and 21 degrees Celsius, potentially falling to as low as 5 degrees overnight into Tuesday.
