The weather in Moscow is improving significantly. Already on July 7th, the daytime temperature is expected to reach 28 degrees Celsius, climbing to 33 degrees by July 10th. Nighttime temperatures will also exceed 20 degrees.

However, it won`t be just sunny and hot, notes Alexey Safonov, meteorologist and weather observer for the Meteoweb project:

Alexey Safonov, meteorologist, Meteoweb project weather observer:

«Muscovites who have been longing for warmth will finally get the chance to experience it. Already this morning, it`s 25 degrees, and the temperature will rise to 28 degrees. Rain and thunderstorms are expected tomorrow and on Wednesday, but daytime temperatures will still climb past 30 degrees, with nights in central Moscow around 18-20 degrees.

As for Thursday and Friday, these are expected to be the hottest days, with temperatures reaching 33-37 degrees in Moscow. It will be sunny with no precipitation, making these the most hazardous days. Nighttime temperatures will be around 20-22 degrees. Imagine, recently our daytime high was only 17 degrees, and now the nights will be warmer than those recent days.

By Sunday and the start of next week, we anticipate a slight decrease in heat, though not significantly; temperatures will remain around 27-29 degrees, possibly up to 30 in some areas. This heatwave, starting as early as Tuesday, will continue until Sunday, followed by a slight cool-down before the heat returns.

This is interesting weather, and it requires close attention. I want to emphasize that thunderstorms are expected in Moscow on Tuesday and overnight into Wednesday, particularly intense during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday and on Wednesday afternoon. All of this will happen with very high air temperatures, which is dangerous in itself. Overall, it will be very unpleasant weather, but it is summer weather nonetheless.»

Forecasters indicate that the weather should revert closer to climatic norms by the middle of the month. According to predictions, weekend rains will arrive in the capital, helping to reduce the intense 30-degree heat.
