India`s Ambassador to Russia, Vinay Kumar, has formally extended an invitation for Russian specialists and scientists to engage in broader collaboration within the space industry. Chandrayaan-3: A Testament to Indian Space Prowess
The invitation for enhanced cooperation comes in the wake of India`s recent successes, exemplified by the Chandrayaan-3 lunar mission. Launched in July 2023, the automatic space station successfully entered lunar orbit in early August. On August 23, 2023, its Vikram lander achieved a historic soft landing on the Moon`s south pole.
Lunar Exploration and Experimental Ascent
Following the successful touchdown, the Pragyan rover was deployed to explore the lunar surface, conducting various experiments until September 2, when it entered a sleep mode. A remarkable highlight of the mission was an «experimental hop» performed by the Vikram lander. This maneuver saw the module briefly ascend approximately 40 centimeters and reposition itself 30-40 centimeters from its initial landing site, effectively demonstrating critical technology for future lunar ascent capabilities.
