Friday, June 27, is anticipated to be the coldest day of the current week in Moscow. Atmospheric pressure in the capital has decreased but is expected to stabilize by the weekend, according to forecasters.

Tomorrow will be the coldest day of the week, accompanied by rain. However, the weekend is forecast to be dry with temperatures warming up to 24 degrees Celsius. Cooler conditions are expected to return from Monday.

On Thursday, June 26, forecasters had predicted a significant dip in atmospheric pressure, down to 733 millimeters of mercury (mmHg). This level was predicted to be 14 units below the norm and linked to cyclone «Ziros.» Notably, the record low pressure for June 26, recorded in 1993, was 731.2 mmHg. The forecast led many people to report weather sensitivity, with complaints of headaches at work.

While the pressure did indeed decrease, it did not reach the lowest predicted levels. It is now gradually increasing and is expected to return to normal by the weekend, says Mikhail Leus, a leading specialist at the Fobos weather center:

Mikhail Leus, leading specialist at the Fobos weather center:

It was expected that today`s pressure would be around 733 millimeters of mercury, close to the daily record low atmospheric pressure for this day. However, barometers did not drop below the 734.2 mmHg mark, which was 12-13 units below normal in the early morning hours. Pressure is now gradually increasing.

The weather in the capital continues to be influenced by the cyclone passing through the northwestern regions of our country. Moscow and its surroundings are in the cold sector of this cyclonic vortex, resulting in cloudy weather with occasional clearings, gusty winds, brief showers, and temperatures three to four degrees below the climate norm.

On Friday, the weather will start improving, but despite more sun and the gradual cessation of rain in the morning, it won`t get warmer. Friday is expected to be the coldest day of the week, with daytime temperatures in Moscow between 17-19 degrees Celsius and remaining windy.

However, the upcoming weekend promises to finally remind us that the first month of summer is ending, with quite comfortable weather. On Saturday, no rain is expected; it will be quite cool at night, around +10°C, but during the day in Moscow, the air will warm up to +21…+23°C.

Sunday will be even warmer, with temperatures returning to their climate range, reaching +22…+24°C at the warmest point in the middle of the day. However, closer to Sunday evening, rain will start returning to the capital.

The beginning of the next week will be marked by light rain and a return to temperatures below the climate norm.

Forecasters anticipate summer temperatures to return to Moscow in the second and third decades of July. They predict temperatures could rise up to +28°C.
