Gennady Krasnikov, the President of the Russian Academy of Sciences (RAS), reported to Russian President Vladimir Putin during a recent working meeting that the Academy is actively conducting fundamental research critical for the nation`s defense and security. He highlighted a significant achievement, stating that a unique result has been obtained in the field of hypersonic technology. Krasnikov underscored that these ongoing studies are highly demanded and have been closely coordinated with leading general designers.
Krasnikov elaborated on the «Sixth Program,» which focuses on fundamental scientific research for national defense and security. He noted that this program was re-launched in late 2023, following a considerable period of inactivity. He emphasized that the program has been meticulously designed and executed, ensuring that all its research endeavors are highly relevant and fully aligned with the approved general designers for weaponry and advanced technologies. Krasnikov also indicated his intention to provide a separate, comprehensive report on the program`s progress, specifically mentioning the «unique results» achieved in hypersonics and other related projects.
