A significant fire has broken out in Balashikha, affecting over 4,000 square meters of warehouse space. The intense smoke and high volume of combustible materials are severely hindering the efforts of dozens of firefighters dispatched to the scene.

Eyewitnesses have reported seeing massive columns of black smoke for several hours. Local resident Irina told Business FM about her experience:

«Initially, I heard a prolonged noise, like firecrackers exploding, and then I looked out my window to see a vast fire and thick black smoke rising. It was clear the affected area was substantial. I believe, besides a car service, there are warehouse facilities involved. It was terrifying. The fire is still being actively fought, with helicopters operating from the sky. Fortunately, the wind is carrying the smoke away, not impacting residential high-rises, so there`s no smell or smoke in our yards.»

According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations (MCHS), Mi-8 and Ka-32 helicopters have been deployed for aerial firefighting operations. The cause of the fire is currently under investigation.
