A significant fire erupted in the Nekrasovsky settlement of the Moscow region. The blaze, which initially covered an area of up to 15,000 square meters, caused a warehouse complex—primarily used for storing household chemicals and furniture—to largely collapse.
Emergency services reported that the warehouse fire in the Nekrasovsky settlement has now been successfully contained to an area of 12,000 square meters.
The «Maxima Park» equestrian club, situated close to the affected warehouse complex, had to suspend the Russian Dressage Championship scheduled for the day. All horses were promptly moved to a safe distance, and people were evacuated. Sources indicated that the horses` lives were not in danger, thanks to the club`s expansive grounds, which allowed them to be relocated away from the thick smoke.
Eyewitnesses described the rapid spread of the fire. Here’s what individuals working near the scene reported:
— They are evacuating horses from there now, just so they don`t inhale the smoke, because it`s nearby, a neighboring building. But otherwise, it`s calm, and they say the railway crossing here is blocked for now; you can see a large column of black smoke. The news here says it`s visible from Moscow. Our area here is large, we are far away.
— What`s burning?
— They say warehouses are burning. They say one or two warehouses have already completely burned down. You can hear sirens; firefighters are on their way.
— They say horses are being led out.
— As soon as they saw the smoke, everyone immediately went to lead the horses out, and naturally, the competitions stopped.
— Is the fire big?
— Very big. Warehouses are burning there; several warehouses caught fire from a pharmaceutical warehouse.
— Did it spread?
— Yes, it`s burning everywhere.
— There`s an equestrian club nearby, are they evacuating it?
— Yes, they are leading the horses out. It`s impossible to be outside.

Over 200 participants were involved in the equestrian competitions that had to be suspended due to the fire. More than 70 specialists and 23 units of equipment were deployed to extinguish the blaze.
