Preview Moscow to Experience Heavy Rains and Thunderstorms Before 30°C Heat Returns

Despite the expected rainfall, temperatures will remain comfortable, and by the middle of next week, Moscow is set to welcome back 30-degree Celsius heat.

Moscow and the surrounding region are anticipating significant rainfall by the end of the day, with some areas potentially receiving up to a quarter of the monthly precipitation norm. Saturday`s temperature, reaching +27 degrees Celsius, is expected to drop slightly by evening as the city and region experience showers, heavy rains, and thunderstorms. However, forecasts indicate that temperatures will once again climb to +30 degrees Celsius in the latter half of next week, starting from Friday.

Tatiana Pozdnyakova, a leading specialist at the «Meteonovosti» information portal, elaborated on the current weather situation:

Tatiana Pozdnyakova, Leading Specialist, «Meteonovosti»: «An atmospheric front is currently crossing the capital region, bringing locally heavy rains and possible thunderstorms. Temperatures behind the front will not change significantly. Over the next few days, practically until the middle of next week, the weather will feature precipitation of varying intensity. On Sunday, the maximum temperature will be +24-26 degrees, and on Monday, the minimum will be +17-19, with a maximum of +25-27. This temperature range is expected to persist through Thursday. Nighttime will see little to no precipitation, while daytime will bring scattered, short-lived rains. The temperature overall will remain within the climatic norm, meaning minimums of +14-19 degrees and maximums of +23-28. This is typical unstable July weather, unfortunately with afternoon rains.»
