Russia`s Ministry of Internal Affairs has issued a warning about a new scheme: phone scammers are calling teenagers, posing as school psychologists.

According to the ministry, the scammers trick the victim into believing they failed a psychological test and their results are now public. They then send a phishing link; opening it supposedly shows the user their personal information, making the deception more convincing.

The criminals then intimidate the teenager, even threatening criminal charges related to data breaches. Their aim is to convince the victim to take all the money from their home and hand it over to the scammers via couriers.

Previously, another widespread scam targeting job seekers in Russia was reported, where individuals were invited to fake online interviews.
