Experts are highlighting new schemes actively used by fraudsters to deceive self-employed individuals in Russia. Attackers are specifically targeting people with limited knowledge of the legal and technical aspects of self-employment, aiming to exploit these gaps for fraudulent purposes.
Typical methods include phishing attacks that mimic communications from tax authorities or payment systems, designed to steal bank account details or other financial data. Additionally, scammers often lure potential victims with fake job offers or promises of lucrative contracts to gain their trust and access their information.
These tactics are part of a broader trend of online fraud, reminiscent of schemes seen in other sectors, such as housing and utilities (ЖКХ), where criminals create fake mobile applications and websites to trick users into paying utility bills to fraudulent accounts.
