The pharmaceutical company Medisorb conducted a survey of 1,200 Russians to find out which doctors they would like to have round-the-clock access to and what criteria they use when choosing specialists.

The survey revealed that general practitioners are the most sought-after, chosen by 40% of respondents. The top five most requested doctors also included endocrinologists (21%), psychiatrists (19%), otolaryngologists (15%), and cardiologists (14%).

A significant factor in choosing a doctor is their tone and manner of communication, cited by 50% of respondents. The specialist`s qualifications and status ranked second (46%). The doctor`s appearance is important for 30% of those surveyed, while age is a factor for only 20% (one in five).

When assessing a doctor`s professionalism, the majority of Russians (39%) prioritize the specialist`s status within the medical community. Work experience is also significant (33%), as is the doctor`s popularity on social media (25%) and the cost of consultation (23%). The least important factor is the doctor`s participation as a speaker in the media, cited by only 8% of participants.

Notably, the highest demand for 24/7 doctor access is among the 36-40 age group (36%), significantly exceeding the rates in other age demographics. The survey also explored how people find specialists: 53% rely on recommendations from friends/family/acquaintances, 37% use internet searches, 16% use social media, and 15% check clinic websites.
