International Space Station
The `Progress MS-29` cargo spacecraft has undocked from the International Space Station (ISS) after several months of being part of its configuration. The undocking operation`s broadcast was carried out.
The resupply ship had been connected to the Poisk module on the Russian segment of the ISS.
The spacecraft`s propulsion system is scheduled to engage for deorbit braking at 0:46 Moscow time on July 2. Following this maneuver, the vehicle will decelerate, descend into the Earth`s dense atmosphere, and disintegrate. Any components that survive reentry are projected to land in a designated non-navigable zone in the southern Pacific Ocean.
The `Soyuz-2.1a` rocket, carrying the `Progress MS-29`, launched from Baikonur on November 21, 2024, and docked with the station on November 23. The cargo vessel transported various essential items to the ISS, including fuel for refueling, drinking water, and nitrogen to maintain the station`s atmosphere. It also delivered equipment and supplies necessary for several scientific experiments. These experiments cover areas such as the study of the gastrointestinal tract, research into the interaction of microvessels and body tissues, data collection on crew dynamics, testing a water regeneration system from urine, crystal growth, neutron studies, and 3D printing.
