The incidence of pertussis (whooping cough) has decreased 3.5 times, and the incidence of measles has dropped fivefold in Russia compared to the corresponding period of the previous year. This positive trend was announced by Anna Popova, the Head of the Federal Service for Surveillance on Consumer Rights Protection and Human Wellbeing (Rospotrebnadzor).
«We currently have very few infected individuals, but it is crucial to remember that pertussis can be prevented through vaccination. A vaccinated person will not contract the disease,» the agency head stated during a media appearance.
