Expert Commentary on Voronezh Attack

Vladimir Smekhnov, editor-in-chief of the `Bloknot Voronezh` online portal, provided details:

«The UAV attack alert was issued the previous evening. Residents heard a series of loud noises across different parts of the city, and by approximately 4 AM, reports emerged of several drones being shot down. Official data from the governor initially indicated over five drones, with the Ministry of Defense later clarifying that six drones were downed in the Voronezh region, several specifically over Voronezh city. One of these hit a multi-story building on the left bank, injuring three teenagers—two boys and a girl—who were hospitalized. The building`s facade and several cars were also damaged. Emergency services are currently on-site. The city administration is already publishing information on how residents can claim compensation, promising comprehensive assistance. No fatalities occurred in this particular incident. Unfortunately, during a previous raid, a 56-year-old man fell into a coma and later passed away; we hope there will be no such tragedy today.»

Relocation Efforts

Regarding the relocation of residents whose apartments were hit, Smekhnov stated: «The Voronezh Mayor`s Office set up a temporary accommodation point, but they clarified it hasn`t been needed so far. One entrance of the building was evacuated, and people dispersed to stay with relatives.»

Temporary flight restrictions were imposed at Kaluga and St. Petersburg airports early this morning but have since been lifted.
