Central Moscow is set for more road closures this Saturday, this time for cycling events. On July 5th, the «Two Rivers» bike race will take place along the city`s embankments. Participants can choose between two formats: a competitive race for experienced cyclists and a shorter ride for beginners.

Later in the evening, Moscow will host the traditional Night Bike Festival, starting from Luzhnetskaya Embankment and finishing near Sokolniki Park. The route is 27 kilometers long. Guests and participants can enjoy an entertainment program, and organizers encourage wearing costumes, with prizes for the most original.
Traffic will be restricted on some streets and embankments during these events. For the «Two Rivers» race, traffic will be closed on Khamovnichesky Val street heading towards Frunzenskaya Embankment from midnight on July 5th until 10:30 AM. On Saturday afternoon, from 2:30 PM until 10:30 PM, Khamovnichesky Val street will also be closed, but this time heading towards Komsomolsky Prospekt.
Additionally, from 4:30 PM onwards, several embankments will be closed: Frunzenskaya, Prechistenskaya, Kremlevskaya, Moskvoretskaya, Podgorskaya, Bernikovskaya, Nikoloyamskaya, Andronyevskaya, Zolotorozhskaya, Krasnokazarmennaya, Golovinskaya, Gospitalnaya, Semenovskaya, Preobrazhenskaya, Gannushkina, as well as on Veteranov Prospekt. Parking will be prohibited in the closed areas from midnight.
Regarding the Night Bike Festival, embankments will also be closed for it. Most restrictions will be lifted immediately after the event finishes. From 9 PM on July 5th until 12:30 AM on July 6th, travel will be restricted on a section of Bogorodskoe Highway. Traffic on Luzhniki street will also be closed from 6:30 PM; closures there and on Luzhnetskaya Embankment will remain in effect until 7 AM on July 6th.
It`s reported that in addition to the cycling events, Moscow`s traffic police will conduct checks on scooter and bicycle riders over the weekend. Inspectors will stop Personal Mobility Device users for checks and preventative safety talks.
