The State Commission at the Vostochny Cosmodrome has officially authorized the fueling procedures and the subsequent launch of the Soyuz-2.1b carrier rocket, which is set to deploy a significant payload of 52 satellites into orbit. The announcement was made by Roscosmos on Sunday.
The state corporation confirmed that the rocket, carrying the main «Aist-2T» satellites along with numerous other spacecraft, is scheduled for liftoff from Vostochny at 16:18 Moscow time (MSK).
This mission holds particular importance as it represents the final scheduled space launch for Russia in the year 2025.
Mission Payload Details
The primary component of the payload includes two «Aist-2T» satellites. These spacecraft are specifically designed for stereoscopic imaging of the Earth`s surface, enabling the creation of highly detailed volumetric (3D) models of the planet.
The launch manifest also features a diverse array of smaller satellites developed by key Russian academic institutions, including Bauman Moscow State Technical University (BMSTU), Moscow Aviation Institute (MAI), Far Eastern Federal University (FEFU), and Amur State University (AmSU). Furthermore, the mission will deploy the first experimental `Marathon IoT` satellite, intended to advance technology related to the space-based Internet of Things network.
