A powerful solar flare, categorized as M1.9, was observed on the Sun on Saturday evening, according to an announcement from the Laboratory of Solar Astronomy at the Space Research Institute (IKI) of the Russian Academy of Sciences. This significant event took place at 23:06 Moscow time.
The M1.9 flare marked the eighth solar outburst recorded that day, with the preceding seven being of a less intense C-class. Scientists from the Laboratory had previously warned that active regions on the solar surface were rotating into a position facing Earth, leading to expectations of increased solar activity and a higher incidence of flares.
