Young people in Moscow planning to buy their first home are increasingly considering options in the Moscow region.

Nearly half (48%) of Muscovites under 30 years old, intending to buy their first home, are considering options in the Moscow region. Among the priorities listed by potential buyers when choosing a specific project, transportation accessibility ranks first, noted by 33% of respondents.

According to G3 Group data, developed infrastructure within walking distance is also of comparable importance (28%). 18% of survey participants mentioned the use of environmentally friendly materials, and 21% highlighted the quality of the living environment.

Young people define «quality environment» not by general slogans but by specific characteristics. These include low building density, clear navigation, quiet car-free courtyards, thoughtful lighting, and recreation areas that create a sense of coziness and safety.

As Oleg Gulevaty, president of G3 Group, points out, new buyers are choosing a lifestyle, not just an address: «Young people are abandoning the `Moscow at any cost` principle in favor of housing where every meter works for comfort – from the width of corridors to the usage scenarios of the courtyard.»

Analysts record a steady increase in interest in new types of projects where architecture, daily life, and logistics are built as a single system. Formats with a small number of apartments per floor are especially in demand. The urban environment in them is designed around daily habits: how to go for a run, where to leave a bicycle, how to enter the building without crossing car traffic.

This level of detail becomes the main criterion for buyers under 30, displacing the necessity of living strictly within the large city, conclude the study`s authors.
