After a damp and chilly August, the capital and its vicinity are set to enjoy a pleasant September. Meteorologists predict daytime temperatures will consistently exceed 20 degrees Celsius, accompanied by an absence of significant rainfall, offering a welcome late-summer reprieve.

This extended period of warmth in Moscow is expected to last until mid-September. Forecasters anticipate daytime temperatures ranging from 19 to 22 degrees Celsius with minimal precipitation, effectively prolonging the meteorological summer.
Alexey Safonov, a weather expert from the Meteoweb project, provides further insights:
Alexey Safonov, Meteoweb Project Weather Observer: «Daytime temperatures will be very pleasant, holding steady at 20-21 degrees Celsius almost until September 15th. Crucially, we anticipate no significant rainfall. While there might be occasional clouds, they are not expected to produce precipitation. Nights, however, will be clear and cool, typically around 10-12 degrees, though slightly warmer in central Moscow, despite the warm days. It seems September is compensating for a very rainy August. We now have an opportunity to enjoy the warmth, even if swimming is no longer an option as water temperatures are universally below 18 degrees. It`s uncertain whether this dry spell will last for three or even three and a half weeks. What we can say is that the weather patterns are likely to shift in about two weeks, though the exact nature of this change remains to be seen.»
Furthermore, meteorological forecasts suggest that temperatures across nearly all Russian regions during the first half of September will either meet or exceed seasonal norms.
