This marks the second UAV attack on the region within the past three days. No casualties have been reported so far in this latest incident. The Governor of Izhevsk stated that the affected site is not located within the city.

Update 21:15: Udmurtia has once again experienced Ukrainian drone attacks, the second occurrence in three days. The unmanned aerial vehicles reportedly attempted to strike targets in the vicinity of Izhevsk. Eyewitness videos show fire and thick smoke after the impact. There were no reports of injuries.
Temporary restrictions were also put in place at Izhevsk Airport, and a drone threat alert was issued across Udmurtia. Earlier in the day, similar airport restrictions were announced for Saratov and Samara.
Two days prior, drones attacked an electromechanical plant in Izhevsk. Governor Alexander Brechalov confirmed that three workers died and 45 people sustained injuries, receiving medical attention.
Following the recent drone strike, Governor Brechalov released another video statement:
“Important information: one of the sites within the territory of Udmurtia—and I immediately want to point out, the site is not within Izhevsk or other cities—has been subjected to an attack. At this time, there is confirmed information about two UAVs. One unit did not reach the target thanks to the security measures implemented at the site. The second struck technical facilities, and the consequences are currently being dealt with. There is no information regarding casualties or injuries.”
Anna Kirshina, a journalist from Izhevsk, commented on the situation in the city:
Anna Kirshina, Journalist: Attacks on Izhevsk have become frequent only recently; the very first significant one was last November at one of the city`s enterprises, resulting in one injury and no fatalities. Then, on July 1st, there was a rather severe attack, also on an Izhevsk enterprise, with three deaths and over 40 injured, including two teenagers. Six people were sent to Moscow by emergency medical aircraft, and over 20 are still hospitalized in our city. Early this morning, a drone threat alert was again announced. This mode of drone danger is still new to us; not everyone is used to it, and it`s unclear how to react. Since June 20th, we`ve had partial mobile internet restrictions, so if you`re home and looking at your phone, you`re aware of events, but if you`re outside without nearby Wi-Fi, you`re in an information vacuum. At 3 PM, the alert was canceled, and we all breathed a sigh of relief, but half an hour later, the `drone danger` mode was announced again, the airport closed, and around 4 PM, news emerged that a site in Udmurtia had been attacked. One drone did indeed hit a technical facility, although the specific object is not disclosed, only that it`s within Udmurtia and definitely not in the cities. The alert was fully lifted by 6:30 PM, but the mobile internet is still intermittent.
Last night, strong explosions occurred in Kyiv; an air raid alarm was sounded, and local media reported strikes by Russian attack drones.
A series of powerful explosions were also reported in the city of Khartsyzk in the Donetsk region, which is under Russian control.
Russia`s Ministry of Defense announced that on July 2, Major General Mikhail Gudkov, Deputy Commander-in-Chief of the Navy for Coastal and Land Forces and Hero of Russia, was killed during combat operations in one of the border districts of the Kursk region.
Additionally, Manolis Pilavov, former head of the city administration in Luhansk, has died, as reported by the Luhansk Information Center, citing his family. Pilavov served as head of the city from 2014 to 2023. Earlier, the LNR government stated that one person was killed and three others injured in an explosion in the center of Luhansk. A criminal case has been opened.
