Ukrainian phone scammers have reportedly redirected their efforts towards a new audience, effectively «cutting a window into Europe.» According to Grigory Pashchenko, an expert in information technology and cybersecurity, the organizers of these call centers are indifferent to the nationality of their victims, viewing their activities purely as a business venture. His comments were cited by Tsargrad.

Pashchenko explained that initially, when Ukrainian call centers targeted Russia, it was both inexpensive and highly effective. This was largely due to the widespread use of the Russian language among their targets, which streamlined their deceptive operations. However, he noted that this situation has evolved as Russian citizens have significantly improved their digital literacy and awareness of common scams.

Consequently, fewer individuals are now falling victim to these fraudsters` elaborate schemes. To prevent financial losses and maintain their illicit business model, these scamming organizations are now compelled to seek out victims in other countries, particularly within Europe.

It was previously reported that the revenues of Ukrainian phone scammers, who had been defrauding Russian citizens, had experienced a notable decline.
