Residents of an apartment building in Chekhov, located at 101B Moskovskaya Street, unexpectedly found themselves in the middle of a brief «heating season» during scorching summer temperatures. This unusual situation was reported by the building`s occupants.

In recent days, residents noticed that the air inside their apartments was significantly warmer than outside. Even with air conditioners running, indoor temperatures soared to almost 40 degrees Celsius by evening. It was actually cooler outside, despite the ongoing heatwave with temperatures around 30 degrees.

Only after touching their radiators did the high-rise residents understand the cause: the heating system was active. Local residents commented that the radiators were so intensely hot it felt as if the outdoor temperature was minus 20 degrees, completely contrary to the summer heat.

People contacted all available services, but assistance was not immediate. Residents noted that such issues are not uncommon. Valentina, a resident of the Chekhov urban district, shared her perspective:

«I live in the private sector of Chekhov but I keep in touch with other residents. I see people facing problems in the housing and communal services sector. In winter, people are left without heating for weeks. Now, during this summer period, people are writing appeals to the administration about flooded basements because pipes have corroded, and no maintenance work has been done for decades. The problem that arose on Moskovskaya Street, with radiators turned on during a heatwave, is not new. Housing and communal services issues are not given due attention.»

It was later determined that the unexpected heating was caused by a broken shut-off valve in the building`s basement, which allowed the heat carrier to flow into the system. The heating has since been turned off, and the malfunction has been corrected.
