SpaceX Falcon 9 Launches 29 Starlink Satellites from Cape Canaveral
SpaceX successfully carried out its 37th launch of the year on Sunday, sending a Falcon 9 rocket skyward from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station. The mission, designated Starlink 10-62, deployed 29 Starlink V2 Mini Optimized satellites into low Earth orbit approximately one hour after liftoff, with SpaceX confirming their successful deployment.
The launch occurred at 10:47 a.m. EDT (14:47 UTC) from Space Launch Complex 40. The Falcon 9 ascended on a northeasterly trajectory. Weather conditions were highly favorable, with predictions indicating over a 95 percent chance of acceptable launch conditions and no significant meteorological concerns.
This flight marked the 27th journey for the Falcon 9 first stage booster, tail number B1078. This veteran booster has previously supported critical missions, including NASA's Crew-6, USSF-124, and 21 prior batches of Starlink satellites.
Approximately 8.5 minutes after launch, booster B1078 executed a precision landing on the drone ship 'A Shortfall of Gravitas,' positioned in the Atlantic Ocean. This accomplishment signifies the 148th successful landing on this specific vessel and SpaceX's 590th booster recovery to date.
