A Falcon 9 rocket, carrying 25 Starlink satellites nestled within its payload fairing, will follow a southerly trajectory after liftoff from Space Launch Complex 4E at Vandenberg Space Force Base in California.
This mission marks a remarkable milestone: the 23rd flight for the Falcon 9's first-stage booster, designated B1081. This veteran booster began its service on the East Coast in August 2023 with the Crew 7 space station mission. Since then, it has supported a diverse array of flights, including various cargo resupply, Earth observation, and 12 previous Starlink delivery missions, demonstrating its reliability and SpaceX's advanced reusability.
Approximately 8.5 minutes after liftoff, booster B1081 is expected to execute a precision landing on the autonomous drone ship 'Of Course I Still Love You.' This successful recovery will be the 186th for this particular vessel and the 591st overall booster landing for SpaceX to date, underscoring the company's commitment to sustainable spaceflight.
