SpaceX Readies Falcon 9 for Starlink Launch with 29 Satellites from Cape Canaveral
SpaceX is poised for a Sunday morning launch of its Falcon 9 rocket. This mission, originating from Cape Canaveral Space Force Station, marks the company's 37th orbital flight of the current year.
The upcoming Starlink 10-62 mission will carry 29 Starlink V2 Mini Optimized satellites, developed by SpaceX. These satellites are scheduled for deployment into low Earth orbit approximately one hour after the rocket's ascent.
Liftoff is expected at 10:47 a.m. EDT (1447 UTC) from Space Launch Complex 40. Following launch, the Falcon 9 is planned to follow a northeasterly flight path.
Weather conditions appear highly favorable for launch, with the 45th Weather Squadron predicting over a 95 percent chance of acceptable weather and no significant meteorological issues.
This mission will utilize Falcon 9 first stage booster 1078. This particular booster is undertaking its 27th flight, having previously supported significant missions such as NASA’s Crew-6, USSF-124, and 21 previous Starlink satellite deployments.
Approximately 8.5 minutes post-launch, booster 1078 is slated to attempt a landing on the autonomous drone ship 'A Shortfall of Gravitas,' stationed in the Atlantic Ocean. A successful recovery would mark the 148th landing for this specific drone ship and SpaceX's 590th overall booster recovery.
