Heidi Klum Introduces Daughter Lou Samuel at Paris Fashion Week
Heidi Klum, 53, attended Paris Fashion Week with her youngest daughter, Lou Sulola Samuel, for the first time. They went together to the Vivienne Westwood fashion show. Klum told "Vogue" that the outing was a "small, early birthday present" for the teenager, who turns 17 on October 9.
Two of Lou's older siblings have modeling experience. Her 22-year-old sister, Leni Klum, has modeled for shoes and lingerie, walked for Dolce & Gabbana, and appeared on magazine covers since she was 16. Her 21-year-old brother, Henry Samuel, has also walked runways and appeared on magazine covers.
For Lou Samuel, the Paris trip marked her first significant public appearance. She told "Vogue," "I feel like I've always been in the spotlight, basically since birth. It's just part of me and my siblings." However, she added, "Now that I'm actually going to a real fashion event and experiencing haute couture firsthand, I feel like I can express myself more and officially show myself, instead of just walking around and being photographed." This means a lot to her. She admitted, "Honestly, I'm totally nervous because it's my first time."
Lou doesn't receive direct advice from her siblings. Instead, she gains confidence by observing them: "But by watching what they do and seeing that they can do it—and we all grew up the same way—it gives me so much self-confidence."
Heidi Klum has four children. Her daughter Leni is from her relationship with Flavio Briatore. Her other three children—Henry, Johan, and Lou—are from her marriage to Seal, who also adopted Leni. Klum is now married to musician Tom Kaulitz.
