Samsung has officially launched its latest additions to the mid-range smartphone market, the Galaxy A57 and Galaxy A37. These new models continue Samsung's strategy of delivering reliable devices with a blend of proven features and significant upgrades, primarily focusing on enhanced performance, improved camera capabilities, and extended software longevity.

Key Innovations and Improvements

A major enhancement lies in the core processing power. The Galaxy A57 now features the Exynos 1680 chipset, while the Galaxy A37 is equipped with the Exynos 1480 chip. Both processors are built on an efficient 4nm architecture, promising substantial boosts in both speed and power efficiency compared to their predecessors, ensuring smoother operation and better sustained performance.

Regarding photography, Samsung maintains a familiar camera setup, including a 50MP primary sensor, a 12MP ultra-wide-angle lens for the A57 (8MP for the A37), and a 5MP macro camera. However, the emphasis for these new devices is on advanced low-light performance. Through software optimizations and AI-driven enhancements, Samsung aims to deliver superior night shots and overall refined image processing, elevating photographic results despite similar hardware specifications.

Familiar Design with Robust Long-Term Support

These new Galaxy A-series phones retain several popular features from previous generations:

  • Vibrant 6.7-inch Super AMOLED FHD+ displays with a smooth 120Hz refresh rate.
  • A substantial 5,000mAh battery, supported by 45W wired fast charging.
  • Convenient in-display fingerprint scanners for secure access.

Conspicuously absent are features like wireless charging and a dedicated telephoto lens for optical zoom, which remain reserved for higher-end models.

Perhaps the most compelling aspect of the A57 and A37 is Samsung's commitment to long-term support. Both devices ship with Android 16 and One UI 8.5 out of the box, and Samsung pledges an impressive six years of software updates and security patches. This level of extended support is a significant differentiator in the mid-range category, where such longevity is typically uncommon, greatly enhancing the overall value and usability over time.

The Galaxy A57 is available for $549.99 in Awesome Navy, Awesome Icyblue, and Awesome Lilac color options. The Galaxy A37 is priced at $449.99, offered in Awesome Lavender, Awesome Charcoal, and Awesome Graygreen.
