The German relay team, with Lukas Märtens at the helm, has clinched a bronze medal at the European Aquatics Championships held in Paris. Märtens, swimming the opening leg, handed over the baton in seventh place to Timo Sorgius. Jarno Bäschnitt then propelled the team to second place before Cornelius Jahn, who was originally a backstroke specialist and joined the quartet as a reserve, secured the bronze medal.

Looking ahead, Märtens expressed optimism, stating, "In two years, we have the Olympic Games again – hopefully in the same lineup – and then we'll aim for more."
